Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon recently promoted seven deputies, one civilian employee and transferred one deputy.
Jay Bonnette, 40, has been promoted to criminal investigator. Bonnette, a resident of Orangeburg, previously served as a deputy in the south region, which is based near Pelion. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in April 2013.
Wallace Cannon, 30, has been promoted to investigator. Cannon, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a deputy in the south region, which is based near Pelion. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in February 2014.
Timothy Franklin, 28, has been promoted to master deputy in patrol. Franklin, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a deputy in the west region, which is based near Gilbert. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in December 2012.
John Gietz, 37, has been promoted to field training officer in patrol. Gietz, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a deputy in the north region, which is based near Irmo. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in February 2013.
John Hatchell, 51, has been promoted to victim assistance officer. Hatchell, a resident of Gilbert, previously served as a deputy in the south region, which is based near Pelion. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in November 2001.
Nick McMillin, 25, has been promoted to field training officer in patrol. McMillin, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a deputy in the north region, which is based near Irmo. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in July 2014.
Brandon C. Miller, 32, has been promoted to patrol sergeant. Miller, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a criminal investigator. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in November 2007.
Iyetteyl Taylor, 34, has been transferred to court services deputy. Taylor, a resident of Hopkins, previously served as a field training officer in the west region, which is based near Gilbert. She was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in June 2015.
Ronnie Youmans, 56, has been promoted to human resources specialist. Youmans, a resident of Leesville, previously served as a finance specialist. He was hired in August 2009.
