Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon recently promoted eight deputies, and three correctional officers and transferred two deputies.
Lori Bailey has been promoted to sergeant in the Lexington County Detention Center. Bailey, a resident of West Columbia, previously served as a master correctional officer. She was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in January 2005.
Stephanie Floyd has been promoted to master correctional officer. Floyd, a resident of Saluda, previously served as a correctional officer in the Lexington County Detention Center. She was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in August 2003.
Tyler Kennedy has been promoted to master deputy in patrol. Kennedy, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a field training officer. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in October 2016.
Tammy Lofton has been promoted to field training officer in the Lexington County Detention Center. Lofton, a resident of Columbia, previously served as a correctional officer. She was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in July 2013.
Tim Martin has been promoted to patrol sergeant. Martin, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a master deputy in the department’s south region, which is based near Pelion. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in May 2014.
J.P. McManus has been promoted to master deputy in the warrant division. McManus, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a deputy in the warrant division. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in July 2013.
Michael Medlin has been promoted to master deputy in patrol. Medlin, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a school resource officer. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in May 2014.
Brandon Miller has been transferred to sergeant in investigations. Miller, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a patrol sergeant. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in November 2007.
Kaaren Miller has been assigned to the crisis negotiations unit. Miller, a resident of Batesburg, also serves as an investigator in the department’s north region, which is based near Irmo. She was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in August 2015.
Kevin Steele has been promoted to patrol sergeant. Steele, a resident of Chapin, previously served as the Irmo resident deputy. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in March 2008.
Walter Todd has been promoted to lieutenant in the Lexington County Detention Center. Todd, a resident of Batesburg, previously served as a corrections sergeant. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in February 2007.
Jason Wilkes has been promoted to patrol sergeant. Wilkes, a resident of Lexington, previously served as a master deputy in the department’s south region. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in March 2013.
Van Williams has been promoted to patrol sergeant. Williams, a resident of North Augusta, previously served as the Dixiana resident deputy. He was appointed to serve as a deputy sheriff in October 2014.
