LEXINGTON, S.C. – Jeremy Vetter, a lieutenant with the Lexington County Detention Center, recently graduated from the National Jail Leadership Command Academy.
Vetter has served with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department since 2004, with the last eight years in his current position. Vetter oversees many administrative responsibilities for the detention center, in addition to being the PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) Coordinator.
“Lt. Vetter attended the program on scholarship awarded by the South Carolina Jail Administrators Association,” Koon said. “Not only did he fulfill the requirements of this selective program, Vetter was elected President of his 34th academy class.”
Koon said Vetter’s training provides him with the knowledge and experience to continue making a positive contribution to our staff, the inmate population and our community.
The academy, located at Sam Houston State University, is a collaborative effort between the American Jail Association and Correctional Management Institute of Texas.
