LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon is pleased to announce the following promotions and transfers.
Philip Apgar has been transferred to resident deputy of Lexington. Apgar previously worked as a school resource officer. He has served the county since 2017.
Raymond Barrett has been promoted to sergeant in patrol. Barrett previously worked as a resident deputy. He has served the county since 2010.
Dennis Bertwell has been promoted to resident deputy of West Columbia. Bertwell previously worked as a deputy in the Warrants Division. He has served the county since 2019.
Kevin Blackmon has been transferred to captain of the North Region in patrol. Blackmon previously worked as a captain in the Lexington County Detention Center. He has served the county since 2004.
Brian Currence has been transferred to captain of the Lexington County Detention Center. Currence previously worked as the captain of the North Region in patrol. He has served the county since 1994.
Terry Davis has been transferred to resident deputy of Irmo. Davis previously worked as a school resource officer. He has served the county since 2019.
Willie Harris has been promoted to sergeant in patrol. Harris previously worked as a patrol deputy. He has served the county since 2017.
Crystal Jenkins-Merritt has been promoted to sergeant in detention. Jenkins-Merritt previously worked as a field training officer in the Lexington County Detention Center. She has served the county since 2017.
Brandon Mills has been promoted to master deputy in patrol. Mills previously worked as a code enforcement deputy. He has served the county since 2021.
Robert Rosensteel has been promoted to sergeant in patrol. Rosensteel previously worked as a property crimes investigator. He has served the county since 2017.
Ben Treaster has been promoted to lieutenant in the Lexington County Detention Center. Treaster previously worked as a sergeant in the Community Service Bureau. He has served the county since 2010.
Van Williams has been transferred to sergeant in the Community Service Bureau. Williams previously worked as a patrol sergeant. He has served the county since 2014.
