LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County deputies have arrested two men accused of shooting into a house during an armed robbery in 2021.
Khartae Tyuan Bethel, 20, and Darreun Hampton Miller, 19, are charged with two counts of attempted murder, kidnapping and armed robbery, as well as discharging a weapon into a dwelling and criminal conspiracy, according to arrest warrants.
“We arrested Bethel’s and Miller’s two other co-defendants shortly after the December 2021 shooting that happened during a planned and targeted robbery,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Detectives have continued to work on this case and just recently identified Bethel and Miller as a result of victim and witness statements.”
Bethel and Miller were arrested July 15 and July 19, respectively, according to Koon.
“The kidnapping charges in this case stem from the co-defendants allegedly restricting the movement of two victims at a home on Double Eagle Drive,” Koon said. “One of the victims was held at gunpoint in the front yard, based on information gathered by investigators.”
Koon said the suspects fired several shots into the home as they ran away. One woman who suffered a gunshot wound has since made a full recovery.
Bethel and Miller are being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
