LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County deputies arrested and charged a man accused of stabbing a man Thursday afternoon at a Batesburg home.

Jesse Waylon Jones, 38, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

“Detectives who responded to the scene of the stabbing at the 100 block of Haven Road determined the victim and Jones got into an argument before the stabbing,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Jones stabbed the victim twice in the upper body.”

The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries and is expected to recover, according to Koon.

Jones ran from the scene but was arrested shortly after. He is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
