LEXINGTON, S.C. –Lexington County narcotics agents arrested a Chapin man last month after finding a large amount of meth and fentanyl inside his home.

Tarik Shiggs, 41, is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, manufacturing crack, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon by a person convicted of trafficking a controlled substance, according to arrest warrants.

“Lexington County narcotics agents executed a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Eagle Pointe Drive in Chapin after receiving information about narcotics inside the home,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon stated. “As agents were approaching the home, Shiggs ran out the back door and threw a backpack over the fence that contained two pistols and a large amount of drugs.”

Agents seized about 8 pounds of meth, 15.5 pounds of pills that tested as meth, more than an ounce of fentanyl, marijuana, crack, crack manufacturing equipment, three guns and two drones from inside the home.

Shiggs was arrested Dec. 20 at the Eagle Pointe Drive home and transported to the Lexington County Detention Center.
