The major over the Lexington County Detention Center has been elected to the South Carolina Jail Administrators Association’s board of directors.
Maj. Kevin Jones will serve as the second vice president of the SCJAA, an organization whose primary goal is to promote jail standards through training and fellowship.
“We’re proud to have one of our own represent us and provide input into the future of detention centers in South Carolina,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “This will help us to remain innovative and stay on top of issues in the detention profession as they arise.”
Jones has been with the Sheriff’s Department since November 1995.
