LEXINGTON, S.C. – A Gaston man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in a hotel parking lot earlier this year.
Dyshawn Titus Hines, 40, is charged with criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, in addition to two counts of attempted murder, according to arrest warrants.
“The charges against Hines stem from a shooting at a Piney Grove Road hotel February 20,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Detectives have determined Hines and three co-defendants tried to kill two people when they fired multiple shots into a car.”
One of the shooting victims was hit five times, according to Koon.
“This is still an open and active investigation, and we expect more charges and arrests in this case,” Koon said. “Anyone with information that might help us locate others involved in this case should share tips with us by using the Crimestoppers mobile app. If your tip leads to an arrest you could be eligible for a cash reward.”
Hines was arrested May 12. He is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
