A Sandhills Middle School teacher is accused of having a relationship with and kissing a former student at the school last year.
Samantha Lynne Knopsnyder, 26, is charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to an arrest warrant. Knopsnyder, who lives in Lexington, was arrested Friday afternoon after turning herself in.
“The contact between Knopsnyder and the victim happened between March and July 2017,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Based on information detectives have gathered during our ongoing investigation, Knopsnyder inappropriately touched the victim while in her classroom.”
Knopsnyder is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center while she awaits a bond hearing.
