An Irmo man has been charged with larceny and two counts of financial fraud after making a purchase with a stolen debit card, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announced today.
According to arrest warrants, Frank Owens Turner Jr. took cash, several credit cards and a debit card from a vehicle on Pitney Road. Security cameras captured images of Turner using the debit card to make a purchase at the Wal-Mart on Harbison Boulevard.
“We shared the suspect’s picture from store security cameras on social media and received an immediate response from helpful citizens,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Their assistance in identifying the suspect was important as our detectives pieced this case together.”
Turner is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center while he awaits a bond hearing.
