Deputies arrested a man Monday night after shots were fired outside a Batesburg-Leesville convenience store.
Tony Robinson, 24, is charged with attempted murder, possessing a weapon during a violent crime and unlawfully carrying a pistol, according to arrest warrants.
“Based on what investigators determined at the scene, Robinson got into an argument with two people in the convenience store parking lot,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “He fired multiple shots at them and their car but no one was struck.”
Koon said all the people, including Robinson, fled the parking lot of the Augusta Highway store after the shots were fired. Two Batesburg-Leesville police officers encountered and detained Robinson near the store. Lexington County deputies arrested him a short time later.
Robinson is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center after a judge denied him bond at a hearing Tuesday afternoon.
