LEXINGTON, S.C. – Lexington County deputies are working to identify the gunman in a fatal shooting at a party Thursday night.
Trayon Devon Newhouse, 28, has been identified as the victim, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher. Detectives said he was shot twice in the upper body.
Newhouse was shot after an argument with a man during a social gathering in front of a house in the 200 block of Minolta Drive. A child was also shot during the incident. The toddler’s medical team told investigators his gunshot wound to the lower body is not life-threatening.
A second shooting incident happened in the subdivision while the investigation on Minolta Drive was underway. Taiquon Williams (pictured above), 23, fired a rifle multiple times toward a house in the 200 block of Nikon Circle, according to detectives. Williams was arrested in the subdivision a short time after the second shooting. He is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.
