A husband and wife are charged after deputies said their infant suffered second- and third-degree burns and the couple failed to seek treatment for up to two days.
John Argoe, 29, and Megan Argoe, 25, are charged with unlawful conduct toward a child, according to arrest warrants.
“On June 18, the baby received burns to approximately 34 percent of its body,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Mr. and Mrs. Argoe failed to seek medical treatment for the baby until a relative saw the injuries and called 911 two days later.”
Investigators said when the baby arrived at the hospital, medical staff reported the infant to be severely malnourished.
John Argoe and Megan Argoe are being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.
