A Pelion man faces multiple charges after he failed to stop for blue lights while driving a motorcycle reported as stolen.
According to arrest warrants, Stephen Johnson Craft II, 37, has been charged with receiving stolen goods, electricity theft, marijuana possession, meth distribution and failure to stop for a blue light.
“After Craft ignored our deputy’s blue lights and verbal commands, we executed a search warrant at his residence and found a wide array of items that were stolen during two burglaries earlier this month,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “He was arrested without incident this week at a Fish Hatchery Road residence and is in the Lexington County Detention Center.”
According to Koon, the 2007 Harley-Davidson that Craft drove away from blue lights last week has not been recovered. Craft is also a suspect in the theft of a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle (pictured above) from a Blackville Road residence in Gaston.
The investigations into the two burglaries and the two motorcycle thefts are open. Anyone with information should contact the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at 803-785-2400 or CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC. Anonymous tips can be submitted here.
