The South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers’ Association presented the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department with its Excellence in Law Enforcement award Nov. 7 at the association’s annual training conference.
“The SCLEOA Excellence in Law Enforcement award is a testament to the great men and women who work throughout our entire department,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “I was grateful and honored to accept the award on behalf of all our employees. They strive to provide outstanding customer service to the citizens of Lexington County and this award is a well-deserved recognition of their efforts.”
The award recognizes the overall activities and achievements of an entire law enforcement agency or department. Major qualifications of the award include effort, innovative service to the community, efficiency and results.
SCLEOA’s Awards and Commendations Committee reviews each agency’s nomination and selects the department that most exemplifies the award criteria.
