Gregg Shockley, chief deputy of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, has graduated from the FBI’s National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

“I am very proud of Gregg,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “His completion of such a prestigious program will help us continue to provide our citizens with excellent service in the years to come.”

Koon said the National Academy is a once-in-a-lifetime leadership and educational experience which less than 1 percent of the world’s law enforcement officers are able to attend.

The 267^th session of the National Academy consisted of men and women from 48 states. Included in the 10-week class were members of law enforcement agencies from the District of Columbia, 25 countries, three military organizations and eight federal civilian organizations.

The National Academy offers advanced communication, leadership and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.
