Lexington County deputies have arrested an 18-year-old West Columbia resident for removing boxes from residential doorsteps shortly after the packages had been delivered.
Ryan Andrew Huff has been charged with petit larceny in the theft of packages from more than two dozen homes on Dec. 18. Investigators said Huff had been a part-time seasonal employee of UPS.
“Our detectives spent much of today personally delivering each stolen package to its intended recipient,” Sheriff Jay Koon said. “I’m sure everyone was glad to get their packages back because most of them were intended to be Christmas gifts.”
Huff is being held in the Lexington County Detention Center while he awaits a bond hearing.
