As summer break comes to an end, the Sheriff’s Department is preparing for one last opportunity to connect with people across Lexington County before the new school year.
National Night Out will be observed Aug. 7 this year. The event is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
For years, deputies have looked forward to taking part in National Night Out events. Not only does National Night Out give our LCSD family a chance to meet yours, it gives us an opportunity to highlight what we do. That understanding is crucial because we’re all in this together.
Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more.
